As a former gymnast I discovered pole dancing as a way to shape up after I broke my back in 5 places. I developed a passion for pole dancing as it allowed me to rebuild my strength without any heavy landings and, most importantly, utilise my acrobatic skills.
In 2006 I moved to Shanghai and with my dance partner and mentor, founded PoleInk, the only male/female pole show in China.
A highlight was being a judge at the inaugural Amateur Miss Pole Dance NZ Competition.
As pole dance sport continues to grow in popularity, I hope that this competition will show case the amazing talen! ts of not just the women, but the men. I am excited to be a part of this premier event.
